NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team fell in a CAC match to the Captains of Christopher Newport University on Friday afternoon, 9-0.
The Knights (13-4) dropped all three doubles points with the closest match coming at the No. 3 spot as Morgan Blount and Alyssa Sewell lost 8-4.
In singles, Blount again had the best showing as she pushed her opponent to a third set super tiebreaker, before ultimately going down 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.
Alyssa Sewell also put up a tough fight for Southern Virginia at the No. 5 singles spot, dropping her match 6-2, 6-4.
Southern Virginia will return to action on the 20th of April as they will continue CAC play against Penn State Harrisburg with match time scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
