Buena Vista, Va. — The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2025 All-Conference awards for women's tennis, with Southern Virginia University seniors Paula Snelson and Jillian Arnold earning well-deserved recognition for their outstanding performances this season.
Paula Snelson capped off a remarkable collegiate career by earning her fourth consecutive USA South All-Conference First Team selection. The four-year standout also holds titles as a 3x Conference Player of the Year and USA South Rookie of the Year in 2021. Snelson finished her career with a stellar 28-2 record in conference singles play, including a 12-2 record this season and 6-1 in conference play. In addition to her on-court excellence, she was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for her leadership and commitment to sportsmanship.
Jillian Arnold continued to build on her impressive career, earning Second Team All-Conference honors for the second straight year, after being named Honorable Mention in 2023. Arnold posted a 10-4 overall singles record, going 9-4 at the No. 3 position.
Together, Snelson and Arnold formed one of the most dominant doubles teams in the league, finishing the season with a 6-1 record at the No. 1 spot, the highest winning percentage among top doubles pairs in the conference.
With their decorated careers, Snelson and Arnold have left a lasting legacy on the Southern Virginia women's tennis program.
The Knights now turn their focus to postseason play as they host #6-seeded Salem in the USA South Conference Tournament first round today at 3:00 PM. A win would send them to the semifinals on Friday, April 25.
