Berry, Ga. – The Southern Virginia University beach volleyball team concluded competition at the Berry Tournament over the weekend, facing tough matchups against East Texas Baptist University and Huntingdon College.
The Knights fell 0-5 to East Texas Baptist, followed by a hard-fought 1-4 loss to Huntingdon, a match that stretched nearly three hours with multiple sets going down to the wire.
Despite the setbacks, Head Coach Jon Baker was pleased with the team's competitiveness, stating, "We were really competitive in all matches today. The Huntingdon duel went nearly three hours. Three matches went to three sets, and the two that went two sets went to extra points."
The No. 1 pairing of Kami Milius and Claire Grasteit continued their strong play, securing a thrilling 23-21 second-set victory over Huntingdon.
Southern Virginia now turns its focus to its next challenge, traveling to St. Andrews on Tuesday, March 25th, for a doubleheader matchup that was rescheduled from February 12.
