BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team earned their sixth-straight victory extending the programs longest win streak in school history, defeating Berry College 16-3 Wednesday morning.

In the first half, the Knights (6-1) nearly shutout the Vikings (1-7) outscoring them 10-1.

Southern Virginia increased their lead in the second half, adding six more goals compared to the Vikings two closing the game with a 16-3 victory.

Caitriona Knowles led the Knights' scoring attack with a game-high four goals while also adding a pair of assists. Natalie Rice, Lauren Thatcher, Megan Barfuss, and Chloe Mitchell rounding out the scoring with each player collecting a hat-trick.

Thatcher also recorded a game-high five assists. Freshman Jordan Gundersen anchored the Knights defensively with a career-high 13 ground balls and five caused turnovers.

At goal for the Knights and picking up the win was Madilyn K. Pedroza with a pair saves.

Southern Virginia will now have over a week to prepare for their next matchup against Keuka Thursday, Mar. 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Knight Stadium.
