BUENA VISTA, Va. - Less than twenty hours removed from their victory over North Carolina Wesleyan, the Southern Virginia University women's basketball team put together another complete effort to defeat William Peace, 67-52.
The Knights used a strong presence inside to open a sizable lead by the end of the first quarter. Defense then took center stage in the second where they held the Pacers to just eight points.
Heading into the locker room, the Knights held a 37-20 lead and looked to be in control after an efficient half shooting the ball.
Just as the night before, Southern Virginia controlled the pace of play the rest of the way and delivered their second victory in two days.
Aysia Foster was dominant defensively. The reigning USA South Defensive Player of the Year registered four blocks and a steal on top of her first double-double of the season. She scored 15 points and hauled in 12 rebounds.
Abigail Snyder, who's on the cusp of her own slice of history and within an earshot of 1,000 points for her career, led the scoring once again with 28 points. Maria Savvun led the playmaking side of things with seven assists, a season high.

The victory hands the Pacers their first conference loss and improves the Knights to a perfect 4-0 in league play.
Looking Ahead
With a lengthy break ahead, the Knights next matchup will be at the St. Petersburg Classic in Florida. Snyder will be on milestone watch for 1,000 career points as the Knights face one of the top teams in the land, Washington University in St. Louis.
Tipoff is set for Monday, December 29th at 1:00 PM.
