MISENHEIMER, N.C. - With ideal conditions to run fast, the Southern Virginia University women's cross country team piled seven runners into all-conference positions to win its third USA South championship in five years.
Running true to their top position in the pre-championship poll, the Knights used a strong lead pack to take control of the race from the gun.
The top five runners separated themselves from the rest of the field midway through and consisted of three Southern Virginia athletes, Bayleigh Redd-Armstrong, Sasha Braddy, and Kaylee Horner.
By the end of the 6K course, Meredith runner Delaney Bundy claimed the individual title, while the three Knights took the next three spots. Braddy annihilated her season best, running 22:40 to claim third. Redd-Armstrong was second in 22:26 and Kaylee Horner capped her Rookie of the Year season with a fourth-place finish.
Emma Hillam persevered to a sixth place finish and Kenia Reynolds, who continues a late-season breakout, closed out the scoring for Southern Virginia in 11th.

Kyra Lee and Jasmine De Souza also garnered all-conference recognition with 14th and 16th place finishes, respectively.
The Knights defeated second place Meredith by five points. Meredith and Southern Virginia athletes occupied 10 of the top 11 positions. After the meet, Head Coach Kyle Chandler was recognized for his third women's cross country Coach of the Year award.
Looking Ahead
The newly minted 2025 USA South champs now have their sights set on the South Regional Championship in two weeks. The Knights, who rank 4th in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, are looking for their first top five finish in program history.
Even more importantly, their searching for a berth in the 2025 NCAA Division lll Championships. The meet will take place on Saturday, November 15th at Salem's Green Hill Park.
