Rome, Ga. – The Southern Virginia University women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with an impressive third-place finish in a competitive 15-team field at the Chick-fil-A Invitational, led by a top-five performance from junior standout Sydney Richards.
The Knights remained consistent across both days, carding identical team scores of +24 (316) each round to secure third place against some of the top programs in the region.
Richards opened the tournament on fire, leading the field after day one with a one-under-par 71. Despite a slower start on day two, she rebounded with back-to-back birdies to close strong, finishing tied for fourth at +5 overall.
Quinn Foulger also delivered a solid performance, posting two birdies on her way to a +11 finish (80–77) to tie for 15th. CC Banz followed closely behind with steady rounds of 81 and 82 to place 23rd at +17.
Lexi Leavitt showed similar consistency, going +10 in both rounds for a +20 finish, while Addison Branham bounced back from a challenging opening round (+17) to shoot +5 on day two, highlighted by two birdies.
Competing as individuals, Halle Western and Madi Frisby turned in strong showings of their own. Western tied for 15th at +11, while freshman Frisby finished 54th at +28.
The Knights conclude their fall campaign at their highest national ranking in program history, showing remarkable growth and momentum heading into the spring season.
