Southern Virginia Women’s Tennis Ends Fall Season with Commanding 6-1 Win

Buena Vista, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team delivered a stellar performance to close out their fall season, defeating the Roanoke Maroons 6-1.

The Knights started strong, sweeping all three doubles matches. At #1 doubles, Paula Snelson and Jillian Arnold dominated with a commanding 6-0 victory. Remly Fry and Lia Savage followed at #2 doubles, securing a 6-1 win. Meanwhile, Lydia Delich and Nadia Molanphy cruised to a 6-0 win at #3 doubles, giving Southern Virginia an early 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

In singles action, Paula Snelson (#1), Nadia Molanphy (#5), and Lia Savage (#6) all posted dominant 6-0, 6-0 victories, clinching the match for the Knights while other matches were still in progress.

Jillian Arnold (#3 singles) extended the Knights' lead with a solid 6-0, 6-2 win. Lydia Delich (#2 singles) fought hard in a close match but narrowly lost 3-6, 4-6, bringing the overall score to 5-1. Remly Fry (#4 singles) battled through a tight contest to finish off the day, emerging victorious with a 6-4, 7-5 win.

The Knights secured a decisive 6-1 triumph over the Maroons to wrap up their fall season. Southern Virginia now shifts its focus to preparing for conference play in the spring.
