FREDERICK, Md.—The Southern Virginia women's basketball team fell 98-71 against Hood College on Saturday afternoon.

Shelby Winsor played another dominant game after scoring 18 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Alexus Barnes scored 13 points and Kimberly Eads added 10 for the Knights (1-3).

The Blazers (2-2) shot an impressive 55.9% from the field compared to the Knights 36.4%.

Southern Virginia trailed by only five after the first quarter, and by 11 at the half before a tough third quarter gave Hood a 25-point lead heading into the final period. 

The Knights open up Capital Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, November 30 at No. 13 Christopher Newport University. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
